Sub-Saharan Africa’s Outlook

Sub-Saharan Africa is defined as the part of the continent below the Sahara, or in other words the part of the continent where the population consist of darker skinned Africans (Black Africa). It has also been referred to as the land of the Blacks. Keep in mind that although these countries has suffered poverty levels beyond those reported anywhere in the U.S. or most nations, it has not been due to a lack of resources.

On the contrary, this land is rich in gold, chrome, copper, uranium, bauxite, iron, and platinum, manganese, and other minerals. It is also the world’s greatest supplier of diamonds. Sub-Saharan Africa has been the victim of inhuman conditions that keep the population in poverty. Because of the natural riches found in here, the Sub-Saharan countries have been the target of greed through hundreds of years of colonialism and rape of the land without thought to replenish.

Resistance to colonialism led to independence and power struggles. Many of these countries have been caught up in civil disruption. This video is highlighting some of the good for the area.
